Amazon Flex Drivers Now Required To Report All Income

Amazon Flex Drivers Now Required to Report All Income

Earnings Previously Excluded from Reporting Threshold

Amazon Flex drivers are now required to report all income earned through the platform, including tips. Previously, drivers were only required to report earnings that exceeded a certain threshold. That threshold has now been eliminated.

Form 1099-MISC or 1099-NEC Required

Drivers who earn more than $600 in a given year will receive a Form 1099-MISC or 1099-NEC, which must be reported on their tax returns. This change brings Amazon Flex drivers in line with other gig workers who are required to report all income.

App Update Required

Drivers who use the Amazon Flex app are being prompted to update to the latest version. The update includes changes to reflect the new reporting requirements.

For more information on the changes to Amazon Flex income reporting, drivers can visit the Amazon Flex website.
